Wess Morgan found himselfback in the studio after a year when the music and live entertainment industry came to a halt and a time where people have been less than loving toward each other.
Morgan is working on a new project slated for release in late 2021 but wanted to give us a sneak peek with the release of “Why Can’t We Love?,” his first single in four years. The single is a family affair with Wess’ uncle, award-winning Nashville songwriter, Chaz Bosarge as the composer and featuring his father, Joseph Morgan, his daughter, singer/songwriter Lizzie Morgan, and his six-year-old-son, Joel Morgan, closing out the song.
We talked about how he got through the worst of the pandemic with the entire family in his home, recording in the midst of a pandemic and how the song came to align with the vision of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Wess Morgan: New Music & Deeper Connection with His Family after A Trying 2020
I have been not so patiently waiting to have a conversation with Travis Greene. I finally got my chance today and it was well worth the wait! We talked about his beginning, his new music and the concert he’s in town for at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church. He hit me with a mini sermon too…
Whenever I talk to Wess Morgan, I know it’s going to be fun… and he never disappoints! Today we talked about his role as host in the Hebrews 11 Gospel: Made a Way Concerthere in Detroit as well as his new song, “Get Me Thru.”
When I heard Wess Morgan would be in Metro-Detroit, I said he had to come see me. It’s been too long… we’ve both gone through so much. So, he stopped by and gave Praise Detroit some encouragement from his new CD, “Livin,” and a book called, “Change Your Mind, Change Your World” which is a year-long journaling devotional.
