I can’t begin to tell you how much the music of the Hawkins Singers and Tramaine Hawkins has affected my life! So I was extremely happy to have a conversation with the legend herself. Lady Tramaine is in the Motor City for a special event tonight and we talked about that, as well as one of my favorite songs that brought me through a tough time in my life a few years ago.
Detroit’s own Twinkie Clark is celebrating a milestone next week… a 60th birthday and 40 years in the ministry! You can be a part of her celebration, but first, we talked about how blessed she is to get to this point, and her testimony of recovering from a tragic accident.

Dove and Stellar award nominee Earnest Pugh has a pivotal role in Michael Matthews, “Danger at my Door,” and I had the opportunity to talk to Earnest as he stops in Detroit to act and sing his heart out. Tony Terry didn’t get the part he auditioned for, but what he did get, was a God inspired play, birthed by his audition/testimony. Mr. Terry is in town for that play this weekend. When Men Pray is written by playwright Angela Barrow-Dunlap and will be at the Paul Robeson Theatre for three great shows Father’s Day Sunday.
