Always good to have Byron Cage Stop by Praise Detroit. But, what I didn’t know is that he was struggling with a bit of Praise Detroit/Interview Chair Envy. So, I took care of that by giving him his seat, and debuting his new single called, “Like No Other.”
I had a chance to catch up with Bryon Cage about his memories of Detroit and his very special concert Friday night at Masonic Temple along with Isaac Carree. Check it out right here:

Celebration of Praise w/ Stellar and Grammy Award winning artist Byron Cage and Isaac Carree
To say that I am overwhelmed by the response for Praise in the Park would be an understatement. Despite all the behind the scenes madness last week (including a touch of food poisoning combined with the heat dehydrating me Friday and Saturday), God is faithful and Detroit showed up and showed out!
I can’t tell how grateful I am to also be awarded a “Spirit of Detroit” award from the city of Detroit! Y’all know I love me some Detroit (warts and all baby!), and to receive such an award – presented by councilwoman Brenda Jones – caught me totally off guard and almost made me boohoo on stage! Thank you for presenting a Spirit of Detroit award to Radio One Detroit as well – the honor is amazing.
Oh my gosh, our Radio One Team Was PHENOMENAL! I love you all so much! Wendy and the Crew, AC and Kerrie, Armando… I’m floored and humbled. Thank you Bishop Clarence Langston and is beautiful wife Pastor Robyn Langston from Word In Action Christian Center for being sponsors of Praise in the Park… with Praise from the start… I appreciate you so much! Thank you to my super talented sister and right hand Terrell for hooking up my make-up, keeping me cool (you were the only one who knew how sick I really was) and being my bodyguard (TeeHee)!
Most of all, thank you to Rena Hayes, Lexi, Byron Cage, Larry Callahan & Selected of God, Tye Tribbett and Bishop Hezekiah Walker for bringing Jesus to Chene Park! What a memorable night!
